Hope in a bowl

Hope in a bowl Times are hard, And good far off, Dismay is away a yard; Can the dark world be faced-off? But there comes a spark, A glimmer, a hope, Out of the times dark, Without the help of a rope. There it is! Inside the bowl! Eyes unable to miss, Not a bit foul! As the hand reaches out, Faster than light,  Without any doubt, Eyes holding the sight. And there's the glimmer, A single crumb, Hope not dimmer, Mind better than numb! The crumb goes down, Into the throat, The darkness to drown, In the light's moat. As the hope appears, By the food's help, The darkness' evil disappears, Giving light a j...

A Message to the Trees

A Message to the Trees Grow tall, oh tree, for the nature demands it,       as you are always to be, the one to never quit. For years and years, you are slain by mankind, and nature's tears are hard not to find. As your leaves flow in the breeze,                       t he greenery grieves,          "What more shall man seize? " Your roots push into the ground, as they intend to never give in, to the bloodthirsty way of humans bound to cause trees the worst sin. Whatever humans do,  your shade always does good, as travellers who value you, fall asleep beneath you and brood. As the time goes on, the more their intentions change, for the trees young and gone, come back as a plant for an exchange! - Sahana Raghuraman
