Hope in a bowl
Hope in a bowl
Times are hard,
And good far off,
Dismay is away a yard;
Can the dark world be faced-off?
But there comes a spark,
A glimmer, a hope,
Out of the times dark,
Without the help of a rope.
There it is!
Inside the bowl!
Eyes unable to miss,
Not a bit foul!
As the hand reaches out,
Faster than light,
Without any doubt,
Eyes holding the sight.
And there's the glimmer,
A single crumb,
Hope not dimmer,
Mind better than numb!
The crumb goes down,
Into the throat,
The darkness to drown,
In the light's moat.
As the hope appears,
By the food's help,
The darkness' evil disappears,
Giving light a joyful yelp!
