                       INDIA: A WORLD OF OUR OWN


From the might of the river Indus,
And the defiance of archaic ruins,
Rose a country, distinct from others,
Fought over for thousands of full moons.

Valleys of verdant green meads,
Between duads of timeworn hills,
To the towering mounds of snow on
Fabled peaks of undermined wills.

Metropolitans surround the capital,
Delhi, with the Indian flag standing tall.
Skyscrapers and manors, forts and palaces,
For modernity's call, and antiquity's drawl.

Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Konkani,
Malayalam, Telugu, Marati, Gujarati-
There are no ends to all the languages,
As they stand together in sheer equality.

Thousands and thousands run errands
across numerous wide roads and any narrow alley.
Be it Hindus, Christians or Muslims-
The great population distributes profound unity.

The Royal Bengal Tiger, the peacock,
The Malabar squirrel and the snow leopard-
Together, they enrich the Indian forests,
Whether by oneself, or in a herd.

The vast, sunlit beaches in Chennai,
Open the doors to the South's waters-
The Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea,
The Indian Ocean's incredible daughters.

Home to the greatest of epics,
With the mysterious Dwaraka hidden underwater,
Not just a land of justice and peace,
India is also a mystical wonder...

" Your roots push into the ground, as they intend to never give in, to the bloodthirsty way of humans bound to cause trees the worst sin. Whatever humans do,  your shade always does good, as travellers who value you, fall asleep beneath you and brood.
